Family Trekking Adventure

3rd November 2024: Our first hiking adventure as Benguet residents! 😊

After two weeks of being forced to stay home due to tropical storms Kristine and Leon, we were finally able to enjoy the outdoors because the sun had finally decided to show up!

We took the Yellow Trail of Camp John Hay to test whether the kiddos were ready for Mt. Pulag or not. 😊

We started our trek at the back of Le Monet Hotel, which was also the Horseback Riding area of Camp John Hay. 🌞

The trek was literally a walk in the park. The kiddos enjoyed it, and so did we, considering the fact that it has been more than 5 years since our last trek. The trek five years ago was really terrible for us, because we were out of shape and inactive from any physical activities. We still are. Surprisingly, the Yellow Trail was a lot mellower than Mt Ulap traverse. 😁

Halfway in the trail, the kiddos started missing their gadgets and missing the comforts of home. They might have also felt hungry as it was approaching noontime. But they were still game. πŸ₯°

A few meters from the exit point, they were no longer cooperating to any photo op. When we reached Le Monet from the other side (we did a traverse or the loop track), the kiddos thought we were having our lunch there. So when Dadda kept on walking, that’s when they started throwing temper tantrums. Coby stopped walking, but when he saw us not stopping, he tried to catch up. Andrei was fake crying, but with just a little push, he obliged.

After two hours in the wilderness, the kiddos became tired, whiny, grumpy, and h-angry. πŸ˜‚ But once they got stuffed at Pizza Volante, they were back to their lovable selves. 😁

Thank you, Papa God, for guiding us throughout our family adventure. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ

Looking forward to the next family trek! 😊 Mt Pulag Ambangeg Trail soon? πŸ™πŸΌ
