We ran out of time, so the Professor asked us to do a dummy presentation, record it, and submit it for him to check, so he could give us additional points.
We were supposed to present in class on 30 May 2025, but the Professor missed the class that day and the session before that. When he came back after two missed sessions, he only stayed for about an hour, and had to leave early for an important meeting. He then left us a message to submit a video of our mock presentation.
Our topic was about The Influence of International Sanctions on Global Trade. I was 10 sessions late because of visa issues, so I had to choose a topic from among the additional topics listed by the Professor and form a group of three with those who have not yet presented. After posting a call for group mates in Microsoft teams, a Spanish colleague reached out to me. Then, another Filipino came to class a week later than me, and so I asked my group mate if we could add him to the group, and she agreed.
She was okay with it since I already prepared the whole presentation itself, which I created in Canva. It was a collaborative effort, though. Unlike the other class presentations I created on my own and my lucky group mates just had to read their assigned part correctly during the presentation day. My Spanish group mate drafted the presentation outline. I only had to polish it and add case studies.
During the recording, I buckled many times, because my children who were in the same room decided to be noisy by singing, talking, laughing, and playing around. I had to mute myself many times to shout at them. Haha! I was worried that their voices would register in the recording. Thanks to my ever reliable wireless EKSA headphones, which was recommended by Bayaning Puyat, for its incredible noise cancelling capabilities! It was as if I was in a distraction-free room.
Note: I pronounced Crimea incorrectly. Sorry for this blunder. I pronounced it as /krē-māə/ instead of /krīˈmēə/. I was not familiar with the place, either. All I knew about it was that it was one of the reasons why Russia got sanctioned in the past. Crimea is an Eastern European peninsula, in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov, disputed between Ukraine and Russia.
